This is bigger than Sephiroth Vs Cloud and Tifa vs Scarlet and Heidegger vs Palmer.
This is Emerald Weapons Vs Ruby weapon, who would win the fight, who would pwn who's arse and this fight is sponsored by Loony BoB penetrated me.
I vote Ruby, Emerald has crap attacks and is a god moder, Ruby is sexier and more fun to beat.
Ruby Beam, Ultima, That quicksand thingy, dammit that's hot.

if ruby went underwater, she'd drown because she is too fat to swim. and if emerald went above water, he would die because he is a fish.

Um, Emerald Weapon isn't a fish. He's a biomechanical creature just like the rest of the Weapons. Also, Ruby Weapon is hardly "too fat to swim" if he has enough engine power to reach near-escape velocity from underground as well as actually hover in midair after escaping the North Crater. Emerald just happens to be underwater, and Ruby just happens to prefer a desert environment where he can make full tactical use of his arms. They're about equally durable, but on the whole I'd give the battle to Emerald Weapon, because of his MP-sucking moves. It would be a battle of attrition, but eventually Ruby's MP would be gone, rendering him unable to use his best skills.
Ruby could absorb MP from Emmy with her tentacles, so that argument doesn't hold water.
I vote for Ruby because she's practically immune for some periods of the battle, whereas Emmy can be damaged regardless of the situation.

Emerald likes to rest under-water. If he comes above water, he'll die because he's a fish. Ruby would automatically suck in an under-water battle because she's way too fat to swim. The only real fight would have to be a mix of water and land, which Ruby will win.

They both do pretty much the same amount of damage so Emerald would win cause he's got more Hp.

Um, I just mentioned that Emerald is NOT A DAMNED FISH. READ THE THREAD. You see all five Weapons rising up into the air in an FMV, which proves that Emerald can exist above water and that Ruby has sufficient strength to withstand it. Seriously, people, it isn't that hard. The idea that any of the Weapons are fish, chicken, beef, pork, or Jesus is bunk. In case you didn't notice, Emerald is in fact "fatter" than Ruby; by your logic, it shouldn't be able to swim.

I've always been under the impression that both have 1,000,000 HP. Where have you seen information to the contrary?

Ruby has 800,000 life. Emerald has 1,000,000. Always has been that way, always will be. Full stats of each would be:
Obviously that doesn't include info on the "four-eyes" of emerald.
And for the record, fishness aside, Ruby would probably win. Emerald's real killer is Aire Tam Storm. No Materia = No Damage = No Fuss = No Muss.

No, seriously. Stop with the fish bullcrap. It isn't funny, or clever, or anything else. It's just annoying. For Christ's sake, he doesn't even LOOK like a fish. He also lacks gills, and has FOUR EYES. That shoot LASERS. Do fish have any of that? I DON'T THINK SO.

ruby's status attacks will have no effect on emerald. the same for his quicksand. aire tam storm would too be useless. the way i see it is ruby can manage three attacks a turn, one each for his tentacles and his own attack. but emerald can manage 5, four jewels and his own attack. seeing as their is a 9999hp limet per attack and emerald has more HP and more attacks, emerald will win by a long shot
