Your parents order you to clean your room and study because they want you to actually take some responsibility for yourself and your life ie. so you're not finding yourself at 35, with no prospects but a litter-strewn apartment to return to once you've finished flipping burgers for the day.

you have to do it anyways, so why not sooner then make your parents mad? plus, it shows them you will be able to take care of yourself and allow you to do more things. but, yes, at times it may be very very annoying, specially when you are in a moody day.
