Also, try running your system with the cover open and try doing what froze your system before. Could be overheating.
My range was 672 - 1344 MB, so I changed the range to 768 - 1024.

I suppose it could be overheating - when it has froze, after a while, the fan starts to spin at its fastest speed. It is a laptop running on a P4M, which run hotter than the Centrinos, so that could very well be it.
