Yes thats true, but you have to remember the selfish bunch of people (you know who you are), who would rather force their opinion down your throat and not give a monkeys about what you respect or hate.

    Don't too e-serious now.

If anyone posts DECENT reasons as to why they liked FFVIII, go ahead, I will read and judge them.

I bitch about the game a lot, mainly for the lack of story and weak characters, but it is still the best of the series out there.
She loves it more then X!

Hm, people are forgeting that these are just opinions. You can either A. agree or B. disagree but the truth of the matter is that they are both great games. And it is fact that 7 happens to be one of Square's best games that they've produced as of yet. Also, if anyone had plausible reasons as to why they didn't like one of the games feel free to share. Otherwise be prepared for a debate. Mwahaha! :evilking:

Oh, I forgot all about that draw system. Yeah, I hated that. The Junctioning in the beginning was annoying, because Quistis bugged me ti'll no end with that. I liked the GF system..wasn't that bad. Don't even get me started on 8's crap story. Those are some pretty good reasons though.

Dismiss all arguments to the contrary with a wave of their hand. Some people dont listen.

FF8 has crap for a story...This is war...

FF8's story is this: A young man with a troubled past, who is destined to save the world, is taught to love again by a beautiful young woman.

FF7's story is this: A young man with a troubled past chases a powerful warrior around the globe while unraveling the mysteries of himself and his allies.

It appears that FF8 has a deeper and more emotional plot than 7's. FF8 was not just about saving the world. More importantly, it was the story of Squall being taught to love again by Rinoa. The story progresses normally, you know: travel to towns, fight bosses, the good old stuff. But something was different than most RPGs. Squall and Rinoa's relationship grows along the way. It starts as nothing than mere flirting, but eventually flourishes into an emotional climax at the end of the game. Watching these two characters fall in love was one of the most emotionally tugging things I have experienced. I know its just a game, but for everyone who experienced it, it is personal to them. FF8 did something alot of RPGs havent done ( including FF7 ), and that was to take the focus off of saving the world, and to explore the depths of the human heart.

FF7 was about saving the world, FF8 was about two people falling in love. Which has a better story?

    Answer: FF8!

I like romance. It is a great storytelling medium, it made FF8 stand out from the rest.

    Are you guys on crack.
FF8 story was stupid. We all were orphans at the same orphanage and we all just kinda forgot arent we retarted.:O_O:
FF7 had a story that wasnt a convuluted piece of crap. Therefore much better game. Also it didnt have rinoa so it was much, much better.
PS FF8 didnt make the EGM top 200 games of all time list FF7 did.

Yeah and so did Super Mario Bros. ( theres a good story for you ) :rolleyes2

FF7 made the list only cause it was the game that made FF big in the US.

Convuluted piece of crap? All FF7's story was this: me chasing a chibi model Sephiroth around the world as block that passed for a man, with cones sticking out of his head. Along the way I meet more chibi squares that pass for humans, and I listen to all the cheesy dialogue till the end...

You dont have to think that FF8's story was good. But FF7's was a recycled cliche of a story compared to FF8. Save the world, heh...heh...Thats original...

I didnt like FF7, and the only reason Im being cynical is cause you were.

P.S. And FF8 didnt have Aeris in it. That makes 8 da bomb!
