The Turks: Reno, Rufus, Elena, Tseng and Rufus was their boss (NOT Tifa!)

FF7's character Vincent had a whole secret background which proves right there that atleast one character had a background, but it wasn't just one. Sephiroth, Cloud, Marlene's real father, Barret, Red XII, Hojo, Lucrecia just to name a few all had backgrounds.

The only FF8 characters who had a background besides the story with the ophranage was Squall, Rinoa, Laguna, Ellone and Raine.

1.)The FF8 characters were ALL developed, including Cid, Ellone, Edea, Seifer, Squall, Rinoa, Laguna, Raine, Julia, Adel, and many more. You are obviously biased in this regard and are contradicting the FACT that FF8 was a better game than FF7, or any other Final Fantasy for that matter.

2.) Laguna also had a secret background, as well as Raine, Ellone and some others.

Just admit that this is the superior game and you'll feel better, trust me.
