...a music patch for the PC version of FFVII, the midis are ok but they don't match the original music. Does anyone know where one might obtain this file?

Midis? What the hell. I wasn't aware the PC version didn't use cd-sound. If it doesn't, a patch isn't going to fix that, unless it's huge. Otherwise you'd probably have to download (or otherwise obtain) the original score, and use that in some manner...

there actually IS a patch, but what it allows you to do is use any mp3s you want for the games music.

in other words, ud need to "own" the OST and rip it to mp3s.

Actually, they're called "Soundfronts". There's one (actually several) for the PC version of FFVIII aswell, because it had all it's music replaced by MIDIs in the same fashion, and I used it. It DID infact come with all the music replacements itself (it was about a 20MB file), and it made it sound just like the PSX version. I obtained it from this website. They have one for FFVII aswell but I don't know if it's the same thing, since I never tried it.
