Why do people love FFVII so much, the graphics aren't exactly as good as they could have been, (the battle pics look nice) the battle system isn't really anything new at all, and while Materia was a nice system, later you get weapons that allow up to seven or so slots... Meaning there is lots of space... and a lot of spells aren't useful at all, The characters are mostly the exact same, the only exception is base stats, but those don't matter so much... Mostly, choosing a party has less to do with balance and more with favorites... The story is intresting, and is probably the only reason people play FFVII... or play FF in general...

If your asking if the game was overated then....yes it was, but it was still a very cool game mostly for me because it had a great story an was the first FF to be done in 3-D, so yes it was overated but is still for me the best FF.

The graphics are bad because it was made in 1997, but they were [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img]ing amazing back then. I got a frickin' date with a girl because of those graphics. Then she moved to South Africa. :/

It is the best game.
It made me cry when aeris died.
It had a great story and the graphics kicked ass back then. I said something about it being on the EGM top twohundred games list.
It made it on the list because at the time it had amazing graphics.It also has the best story ever. FF8 didnt make it because there better games when it came out.

FF7 was a good game in RPG history because it really helped make all the other RPG's in the year to come. It shaped how games are suposed to be like. It's plot line was near flawless. Also, the game play was really different then the other games at it's time. The detail was crazy.

its not overrated, i have a nice little story, i asked for the game as a confirmation present,then proceeded to pay $10 every weekend to rent the playstation so i could play the game,

basically its the game that i bought a system for, and aslong as we are on systems. i like the materia system alot better then the other systems in ff

Overated... Overated!? What do you mean. For a nine year old game it's freaking awesome. The storyline is truly brilliant, the graphics were awesome and the characters... Well, it has Vincent, enough said...

Best Game Ever IMO
I love the game, maybe a little too much. My vision isnt blurred on the game, when I hear people claiming the game is the best thing ever, I dont judge, as I know what they feel about this game.
