what was the game called where you had a storyline and certain objectives that all involved you travelling into space and a certain planet in the galaxy?


and then..... once you were to finish the storyline and set missions and stuff.


you were let loose on the galaxy, and you were free to roleplay a little.


and then once you had gotten bored of the galaxy and the battles on say... I donno, Mercury.

you could fly out and explore the universe and it never ended or something like that.

nither did the variety of planets you could explore and seek treasures like new melee and gun weapons, and also money to fund your ship and add bits and pieces onto it.


while you were flying, you had to keep the ship up to speed, and also defend yourself from space pirate attacks.


whats it called again


edit: It was quite scary at first traveling in deep space, never knowing if youd get lost from your destination or when something would go terribly wrong while you stealthed out of alian eye sight whilst exploring a ruin or infiltrating a high tech city.
