    Okay, so I just noticed this, but there is a green worm-like creature in FFVI called "Slurm":

    I wonder if this is where Slurm comes from in Futurama?

    Hah, you inspired me! I don't know how long it will stay in there but I added a possible origin of Slurm section and mentioned FFVI.

    When I was younger I rember this puppet-based show (Sombody's Castle) It had things called "Slurms" in it

    Eureka's Castle, that was a creepy show I must admit. By the way one the puppeteers went on to be a pro-wrestler.

    Yeah it's that one.

    That's what I thought of when I saw "Slurm" (They came out at the same time actually)
