The first three lines pretty much refer to what they look like and what they do. Shielded from darkness thingie refers to the mask. Tasting the victory refers to the fact that both the goal of a hockey player and an enemy in the game is to win.
The Puny Castle line is as we both know the big hint. Puny Castle is an anagram for Stanley Cup, which should have pointed you towards the idea of hockey/Slappers.
Lastly, the "RJoining Rudolph in the pit of loneliness." is my favorite line. I told you which line of the song it refers to. "They wouldn't let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games." This actually refers to the fact that Slapper is one of the only enemies that doesn't have his pwn card in the Triple Triad game. Go ahead B52 or whatever. =]
