Thanks. But I'm surprised no one beat me to the Stanley Cup-hockey-Slapper connection.

The realm of the dark knight
    No monument to his glory
Just a lot of lost minions
    And an untrustworthy guardian

We don't need to explain for this one do we?

    Is it Odin?

No, but an explanation would be welcome, of course.

    It's not Odin.

Hmm... This one could be tricky, seeing as there is no 'me' in the riddle, so we don't really know what to search for. But that just makes it more interesting!

'The realm of the dark knight' definitely reminds me of Odin. The place where he is found is called Centra ruins, but has a sign saying "My blue heaven" outside.

'Just a lot of lost minions
    And an untrustworthy guardian'
This reminds me of Tonberrys and Tonberry king. Ehm... Gah. I can't think right now. My brain is filled with syrup.

    minions - fujin and raijin
untrustworthy - joined Galbadia to fight Balamb Garden
    ...Geddit?

It's not the Tonberry King or Tonberries in general.

I knew somebody would guess Seifer, but it's not him either.

Where'd you get the "death" part? And there were plenty of monuments in the Tomb of the Unknown King.

    Thank you Hysterian!

It's not the Tomb of the Unknown King, but it is a place.

I thought it was a well-reasoned guess, actually. Although I would have said 'guardians' had I been referring to the Brothers.

centra ruins (place where you find Odin)

The realm of the dark knight---Odin
No monument to his glory---in shatters
Just a lot of lost minions---tonberries
And an untrustworthy guardian---tonberry master who is actually another tonberry who joined the party that defeated so many of his species
    ...Geddit?

The Deep Sea Deposit (Area under the Research Center)

The realm of the dark knight - It's where Ultima Weapon resides, and I consider him a "knight" because of his sword and power.

No monument to his glory - There's nothing to represent Ultima Weapon and his strength or reign, except for the ruins.

Just a lot of lost minions - The scientists and researchers are all gone, if they're considered minions... and you have no choice but to destroy every monster you come across on your way down to the deposit.

And an untrustworthy guardian - Either Bahamut or Eden... They're both guardian forces, and they can both be converted to your side of the team. Bahamut is sort of "guarding" the deposit, because if you don't beat him, you can't make your way down farther. Eden, on the other hand, is a Guardian Force that Ultima Weapon wields, and you can extract it.

    Thank you Hysterian!

Good guesses, but it's not Tears' Point or the Deep Sea Deposit.

    Here's a wild guess:
The big mansion/house in Winhill, where you take up the vase sidequest.

    Thank you Hysterian!
