now we already know that:
1. "without elle" means without the letter "L", which would make world actually word (thank you HolyMackeral for that connection)
now, when i see that i see the first part as lo and behold ol laguna says to "ONE" or Eone if u take out the "l"s, but one thing im starting to think (im prolly wrong tho) is that when the quote says if I were you...does it mean if the " i "s were "u"s seeing as Elle meant "l"...just more thoguhts and possibly more wordplay in the riddle... but there has to be something about "ONE ".....:rolleyes2
p.s. im still stuck on the "i'd give in for my age"line guys...

The I-U connection is actually NOT a part of the riddle's word play, but well spotted still. And you can consider yourself ready with the last line. It's just there for making the previous line trickier. So, let's start ruthlessly picking this riddle to pieces. This is what you have now:
"Lo and behold",
Ol' Laguna says to Ellone.
"If I were the riddle answerer,
I'd give in for my age
in a previous word."
The riddle tells you what to do. Rephrase it and do whatcha told
I guess we could remove the "If i were you" line as its not really telling us a whole lot except that we should do what comes in the next two lines. Therefore the answer lies here.

Does age relate to the fact that in the second line Laguna is "Ol'"?
