I believe that in the beginning of the making of FF XII....the main character was REALLY the "cajun" looking guy with the brown hair....you know the one with the gun(weapon). But it kinda seems like they KNEW they had to add a blonde character so they added Vaan and made him as girly as possible. Anyway, is SquareEnix concentrating too much in making blonde characters??? (and are they kissing white people's ass by doing it???) I mean they could make japanese looking characters instead right or latin, or arabic, or african american, or Indian, or mixes???????

You know DeathKnight, you do have a point. I've been noticing that myself. Not that I have anything against blondes, mind you (I am one) but it is becoming rather consistant. I wanna see some main characters with black, red, brown, green, orange, and purple hair. Maybe all of the above colors combined...

On a serious note, I suppose the Japanese think that blonde hair, blue eyes is what 'American' is.

I agree. I'm getting tired of it myself. But what really matters is the character's personality. Not their looks. So lets hope Vaan is still likable. Tidus didn't stand up to par in my opinion.

The prob is in Japan ther going through this huge metrosexual phase and it looks like were in for a bunch more blondes. Also umm how to say this without flaming, okay youre taking people in general as opposed to looking at the situation right. I will agree Square has made a habit of kissing white folks asses but youre saying all Japanese kiss white peoples ass and thats not true.

nah, not really, ONLY the FF team does. Star Ocean has a blue haired main character and some other Enix games have main characters who are not blonde.

Sad thing is there are LOTS of games whose main character isn't blonde but in FF they have a RULE that it has to be blonde, that's sad.

In FF XII the guy with the brown hair (gun) looks more like the main character than that girly Vaan............it's just so sad. Squall was a surprise a good one. Why can't they make characters like Vincent the main characters??? or Nooj? or Barilai?

I really don't caer 'bout Yuna technically being the main character in X-2, it IS obvious that Tidus is STILL the main male character. So to me FFX/X-2 go together
