    FFXI FTW

    It's hard to pick, really, there's a lot that I like. SoM, Vagrant Story, FFII, FFXI, FFX-2, Act Raiser, Kingdom Hearts, Star Ocean 2... I'm not really all that pickey when it comes to battle systems though.

    That said, FFCC had sucky controls.

    I worry about story and characters before battle systems. Otherwise I may as well be playing a simplified battle simulator.

    I think my favorite is the Materia system from FFVII.
