    Barry Barry

    To people who hate him:

-Don't hate him 'cause his skin is BROWN(you all know that if it was Marc McGwuire or someone with peach skin, you would still root for him)

-Even if he used steriods, don't hate him, hate the GAME which allowed it.

    -He's still a human being.

-Deep inside I'm SURE he's sorry for it all

I missed it! I was at my brother's graduation. I hope he gets 715 on Tuesday. That one's still historical.

That was a good game too.

Same old story. The East coast talks about how they are better than the West, and the West doesn't really care. Personally I like our laid back approach to sports. They're just games, and I think we take them as seriously as games should be taken.

Tell me something, when fans take things seriously (like in the WBC, does it not feel better? does it not attract more attention, doesn't it become a better thing)

    examples:
    -Football(Soccer) fans
    -WBC and all its fans
    -East coast World Series(baseball)

See, even eestlinc believes in my theory. So yes, east coast is the best for baseball. And I was just responding to those who said "Barry Bond's homerun was in a boring game" so there you, that's the west coast for you.

Captain said it was boring, and he lives in NYC. And soccer riots are bad.

Except for Dodger fans. Man, I hate Dodger fans.

Not all New Yorkers kick ass like me, you oughta know that. But seriously, not EVERYONE here takes it seriously, the majority at least, he just happens to be an exception.

It's too bad Barry Bonds will now probably have to be linked with Hank Aaron for all time, though hopefully he doesn't pass him. Aaron was everything Bonds is not, he was always dignified, classy, and never tried to make himself bigger than the game ('Bonds On Bonds' Anyone?). Bonds is a great player, no doubt about it. He was a HOF before the the juiced era really clouded everything up, but the problem is, he's done nothing to really give us any reason to root for him or to even believe him. His disposition doesn't help his case, in fact, it makes more people root against him.

Mets - Yankees games are boring, especially in May. Now, should they meet in October or November, then it's something, but interleague has been around a while now and the novelty is wearing off.

Same goes for Yankees - Red Sox games in May. Nothing bugs me more than sportscasters and writers trying to hype up matchups when we're not even to the All-Star break.

I try to take a more universal apporach to sports. Follow every sport as best you can, and you'll find all sorts of interesting and exciting storylines. Those who restrict themselves simply to just baseball or football are missing out in my opinion. Granted, as an American and New Yorker, New York sports will always dominate my time, but it's good to take a break and realize that there is more out there than just Yanks, or Mets, Giants or Jets.

    Take care all.

To be honest, I don't care 'bout big stars: Pujols, Bonds, etc. What I really care 'bout is TEAMS: Yankees, Red Sox, Braves, Dodgers.

So yes, talking 'bout teams, how's everyone's FAVORITE team doing so far? And which OTHER team are you admiring???

-Yankees: They're doing pretty good, lots of injuries and stuff but we're looking for the Rocket.

-Blue Jays: Awesome team, they're up there with the Yanks and BoSox.

the Braves are finding ways to win most games. now they just need to fire Reitsma. Giles has been sucking this year too. Rumors are swirling around ATL about Giles being on the roids in the past. Hopefully he's just slumping and will pick it up. He has shown some signs of hitting recently and he's been drawing walks all season.

Oakland just lost to the Royals. At home. And now they are losing again. Not good.

The A's are actually the best team in their division, but not without Harden and their entire bullpen.

I don't know why they spent money on Loazia when Saarloos is a decent 5th starter.

They'll be in it in the end, but they might fall short again this year.

Swisher for the All Star team. He's not even on the ballot.
