the Composer of my faveorite Drakengard 2 song ("Exhausted" The Broken Past) Nobuyoshi Sano, it feels truly epic when just stopping to listen to it.

Tetsuya Shibata, Kento Hasegawa. who both composed for devil may cry 3, it really suits the mood with both ambient and battle themes, that true industrial future type music.

The guy who composes for guildwars has some pretty brilliant songs aswell.

but the best is clearly the composer for PN 03.

Yeah, Yuki Kajiura did the music for .hack//sign as well, which is definitely among the best OSTs ever written.

Jeremy Soulle did Guild Wars. And he's an excellent choice in this thread. I heart him for the KOTOR games.

Christophe Heral did the music for Beyond Good and Evil. One of the few games I acquired the soundtrack for.

Well, is obvius that Nobuo Uematsu.

Also Hitoshi Sakimoto (I just love the music of FFT) and Yoko Shimomura (Legend of Mana, I love that game)

The composer for .hack//sign was also responsible for the music featured in the anime series Noir. Both featured amazing soundtracks.

Ooh, forgot about Kajiura Yuki I tend to think of her more as an anime OST artist than for games though

Probably Motoi Sakuraba, mostly for all the Star Ocean soundtracks and the Baten Kaitos soundtrack (soon to be Baten Kaitos II as well, when I finally get to listein to the soundtrack. If it's anything like Baten Kaitos' soundtrack, I'll love it.)

And since others have said Yuki Kajiura, I will also. I know her mostly for her anime music as well, but it's wonderful music, all the same.

Jeremy Soul also did the music for Morrowind ES3.... I much prefered his Guild Wars music now though, especially with the new factions music, it sounds amazing.

Well, if you could say that Nobuo is the best composer, then this thread would be boring, since everyone loves him. :mog:
He is the KING o videogame music. Or even more: GOD of videogame music. Yoko Shimomura is, of course, the queen. She is my favorite, besides Nobuo. Yasunori Mitsuda has also composed some nice touch. They're all great, but Nobuo's music somehow reached the bottom of me.

Let's see, Nobou Uematsu for sure, Yoko Shimomura, the person who did Shadow of the Colossus (Kow Otani I think?), and not sure if you'll count this or not, but Yoko Kanno is amazing (did music for the Ghost in the Shell: SAC series). All have done really great stuff imho.
