Mega Tonberries!

I'm trying to learn Cry in the Night off one of these fiends. I get it oversouled, and go into battle with my lvl 99 characters, and get completely owned within a few turns.

I've tried a strategy I found at Gamefaqs about using sentinel, but I get killed by the magic it uses when it's not stabbing me.

Any advice would be appreciated...

That is because mega tonberrys pwn anything and everything. You have no hope of beating them.

Or... you could use the always cheep trick of having a gunner with catnip and low health own it.

btw, after spending a few hours trying this morning, I did manage to beat one, and get the Cry in the Night blue bullet

Eh, I killed a bunch of them today without catnip. They're hard, but not impossible.
