FFIX is definitely one of my all-time favorite games. I loved it from the very first beginning. The story is amazing and the characters are so loveable and definitely not out to save the world. I love the music just as much as I loved the music in FFVII and perhaps even more so. I can't stress often enough how highly underrated this game is -- a shame, really, since it's an amazingly thorough game.

Meh, it was PSOne game. Look what happened to the FF's once decent graphics came in. As soon as the PS2 graphics were out, that's what the focal point of the game. Whereas in the PSOne FF's the gameplay was important.
Most importantly however is the fact that FF9 KICKS THE OTHER FF'S ASS, SPITS ON IT AND GIVES IT TO A TRAMP! Slight exageration used to emphasise my love for FF9
In my opinion it's a 10. I'm ignoring the in-game graphics because we all know they suck (though the backgrounds are truly awe-inspiring), and going on the great plot, script, characters and everything else that I haven't mentioned there.
10/10 for me as well - just restarted this - it's a true FF game, and everything about is very Fantasy based - so many different races, the Moogles are awesome as save points, the side games are addictive - I however, am terrified of the Friendly Monster music XD

Final Fantasy IX was spectacular. It features some truly awesome things: A different story, some wacky, yet great characters, amazing systems, and many more fantastic things.

It was the first one i beat. I started ff7 when i was in third grade and FF8 but i beat FF9 during my summer after 5th grade then i went on to beat FF 8,7 and tactics in the same summer.
