Yep, rechargable batteries tend to slowly get worse. When I first bought this laptop, the batteries lasted almost 4 hours. Now, after a year, it's just a bit more than 3.

Yes. You need to find a video converter program for anything you don't buy off of iTunes. There are bunches of shareware trial ones, but the trials are usually morbidly inhibited so they will only play 5 minutes, or they won't have an audio track (sound), or there will be a huge watermark in the middle.
