    Default Macro Photography

    An experiment.

    Taken with a Canon 350D, with a 17-40mm lens. Very low ISO, 2-4 second exposures, and some photoshop touchups. Grain is intentional.

    I'm surprised the first one came out as it did with such a high exposure time.

    Good work. I like them all.

    2-4 seconds isn't high exposure time.

    2-4 minutes on the other hand...

    I really like that 2nd one, it's almost surreal. I wanna try Macro Photography sometime. My Digital Photography class in school has some macro lenses, but they're for the normal film cameras, and I'm not a big fan of normal film because it can get ruined to easily, can't play with it on the computer, etc.

    Film has a look that you can't achieve through photoshop no matter how hard you try. A real earthiness and texture that's just beautiful. I think every photographer should learn the trade with a film camera before switching to digital.

    Personally, I am a HUGE fan of polaroid cameras. I'll be starting a polaroid project soon.

    Yeah, film is also pretty cool. I'd really get into it if I had my own little dark room. I think I'm a little biased towards digital because I started photography with it first, but I love enlarging and developing photos, because it makes you feel even more accomplished, after the long process of developing the film, making the proofs, etc.

    I miss my Photo 1 class. ;__;
