I think they made Lulu so chatty, even though it doesnt fit her supposed personality, is because they had WAY too many "calm, silent" people. I mean Auron, Kimahri, and Yuna was kind of quiet, too.

You need someone imparcial for this, actually.

But Auron don't wants to kill Yuna, he only wants that her finish the pilgrimage, and bring the calm. And not only him, all the team, even Yuna.

And all the team, except of Rikku and Tidus, accepted the destiny of maybe die for Spira and for bring the calm. Including Yuna, she accepted her possible destiny of dying.

But at the last point of the Pilgrimage, (SPOILER)the team decided that Yuna could beat Sin without the Final Summoning, so the team sended Yunalesca and battle Sin and the rest is history. .
