Truly a sad day for baseball. Not only a great player, but a great person as well. He truly loved doing what he did.

This is a sad day. Kirby Puckett was a great baseball player. Twelve seasons, ten all-star appearences. He was taken off life support and died at the age of 45. I know I for one will miss him. Helped win the 1987 World Series when I was born. Again in 1991. Had a few bad occurences after baseball, but generally a nice fellow. He is a huge fan favorite, and he will be missed. Being born in and growing up in Minnesota I have been a Twins fan my whole life. This is a sad day.

I've never been a Twins fan but, as a fan of baseball history, watching Puckett cross the plate after his homerun in Game 6 of the '91 World Series has always been one of my favorite highlights to watch.
