I only like a few CoF songs, just depends... as for listening to Metal since you were 6, it says you are 15, making the age of metal listening around 1995, if you could get your hands on some -black- metal, in which bands like CoF are in technicallities, then I highly doubt that you listened to that high of a genre in the metal terms, chances being, Grunge Metal, Industrial Metal, Death Metal a small possibility. Metal as a genre by itself mainly classifies from bands such as Iron Maiden, the -old- Metallica, Megadeath, Black Sabbath, bands such as that classify as the metal genre, for they are the one's that started the basic branch into all of them. =] And the popularity of most of the Black Metal bands didn't come around until shovanistic pigs started being all "HEY WE SHOULD LOOK REALLY COOL AND MAKE PEOPLE LISTEN TO OUR MUSIC" in which they mostly do. Listen to Opeth, I loves Opeth and with terms of Musical ability... CoF can actually compose some music on the musical composition sense, lyrics were never that awesome to me. Anyway.. CoF is a starter band.. and if your exicted over them, You have a long ways to go before you're 'oooh'd' and 'Awww'd' over some of the music that you really need to hear. <3.
Industrial (My personal favorite), Black, Death, Grunge, Hard, and Punk-ish metal are the basis of normal genre's for metal. =D
But Hey, as said. I do like some CoF songs.
