i'v ejust started playing FFIX (yes i know i'm a late starter on IX but heh ho)
Anyway i was just wonderinh how long it took you guys to complete the game first time round?

Maybe 30 hours or so. Let me check...
Hope you like it, the story does heat up after disc two!
(Actually, you may be surprised when you get through disc one. Disc two is short, but longer, and disc three seems the longest.)

It took me around 30 hours first time. I didnt even touch the side quests though. All that was done on my other playthrough...

34 hours,super-minimum training(just for skill mastering,leveling up in the process).Finished once.

40 hours or something. Like with most FF games.

Around 40 hours with some sidequests. This is how I would rate the disks.
1. Disk 3
2. Disk 4
3. Disk 2
4. Disk 1
Disk 1 was okay but the other ones were better.

Well i'm just half way through disc 2 of FFIX and its so much better than the first disc. The first disc was quite slow. This 2nd one is so much better. I'm guessing it just gets better and better!!!

the end of Disc 1 is brilliant, Disc 2 brings about two interesting characters, Disc 3 is a little lousy, Disc 4 wraps the whole thing up pretty well
Took me about 35 hours. Takes me ages to level up though

Forty hours first time through, maybe, but that's skipping peripheral mini-games and sidequests and just dinking around at my leisure. The next go-'round is always more interesting.
