zanmato is not for crybabies only.
By having 100 % of all available weapons and stuff,and be the strongest,does not necessarily make you a better fan.
I personally don't do this because I don't want to tire the game,and make me bored of an ff.
How would I beat all the dark aeons?Do I have to spend 500 hours and make me damn bored/sick of the game,that would lead to my dissatisfaction concerning all ff series consequently,and I do not seek that.

And yes, I think it's pretty safe to say that Penance is the toughest FF boss so far.

Depends at how you look at it. A party with Max Stats and the right armour can take him down with a 100% success rate. Plus, the battle with consist almost entirely of quick hits.

But the amount of work you have to put into it is insane :\
