Maybe, if not just to make things easier for both the mods and users, you could include two images, one 250 pixels high and the other 550 pixels wide saying "Sig cannot extend past these lines."

I was going to do this ages ago, but I got lazy and had other things to do. I will update the Signature Service thread with an image that is 550 pixels wide and 250 pixels high so that everyone can see the maximum size. Unfortunately, most illegal sigs are because of the filesize and not the dimensions.

Or you could just right click on the image and see it's properties to see the width and height.
