Default Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

chaos: Even if it is a decade old, it still kicks major ass!

Rubedo: Has anybody played this game before? We think it is by far the best RPG ever made. Besides the humour, it's got a nice, fun, battle system, great characters that get developed nicely. (Unlike Paper Mario, which gives you a crapload of characters ever chapter. Still a good game though).

Albedo: *laughs maniacally* And the chances of a remake are going up too... with the creation of yet ANOTHER Mario Sports game, Super Mario Basket 3 on 3, which is being created by none other than Square-Enix and Nintendo.

Trowa: They haven't worked together for a while. Hopefully this will lead to the creation of a remake and sequel of a great game.

Rubedo: Yeah. A great game overshadowed by the launch of the Nintendo 64.

chaos: So yeah. Voice your opinions on this game.

SMRPG was the.....2nd RPG I ever played. I loved that game considering it was also the first one I ever beat. Paper Mario was pretty good too, but not as good as SMRPG.

By far the absolutely best, most awesome and ass-kicking battle system ever made! Seriously... the battle system in this game is completely unmatched. The only game that has a battle system that even deserves to be compared to SMRPG's battle system is Xenosaga 1.

This was the first RPG I ever played... but it's still by far one of the best. Just about everything in this game ranges from "good" to "perfect".

...and just for the record, I really, really, REALLY hope that Geno will be in Super Smash Bros Revolution.

    chaos: Hey, Hey, Ultima!

Rubedo: And I completely agree. Geno in SSBR would be so awesome. Just imagine, if you hit Geno Whirl perfectly, you instantly kill someone!

chaos: Mallow would be cool too. Him using thunderbolt, and all over the level, different strikes of thunder go.

chaos: Oh oh oh! Remember Booster's wedding? When the cake came to life, and the chef's were so oblivious. Well, Chef Torte anyways.

Rubedo: And trust me, this game will see the light of day again. It was such a great game, and did sell well, but so many people missed it because of the N64.

Yeah, that would be so awesome! I don't think they will overpower him so much that they give him an instant-KO move but... still, Geno Whirl is a must!

Also, I forgot to mention another very important thing about SMRPG. The fact that no matter how many times you play it, you can always play it all over again... and still enjoy every bit of it. SMRPG got more replay value than ANY other RPG ever made.

chaos: Darn right. I just hope more people post so this doesn't turn into more of a PM-esque thing.

Rubedo: I've played SMRPG so many times it isn't even funny. I know every single part of it in my head perfectly. It's like my damn bible.

True. This will be my last post for now. I'll wait until more people has posted.

Anyways... what about the two of us doing another SMRPG challange? You remember the last one, right?

Oh and if there will be a SMRPG 2, I really hope that there will be a lots of secret dungeons filled with crazy super bosses. Something like Sphere 255 in Star Ocean 3 would be really cool.

The game is overall fun, I hate climbing the vines so much! The angles are hard to hit so I miss the vine a lot and fall back down

I'm sad to say I never beat the game, but I played through a good bit of it, and it was definitely a blast. Just good, old-fashioned lighthearted Nintendo fun, with a solid system provided by Square.

This was the very first RPG I've ever played. It's one of the greatest games ever!

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Albedo: *laughs maniacally* That's how it went. It gave me difficulty as well... same goes for the platforms in Booster's Mansion. *laughs maniacally*

Rubedo: Azar, you pretty much explained my feelings for SMRPG in that post. It was enjoyable, and laid back. While there was an antagonist (multiple ones at that), it wasn't anything totally serious, as even the bad guys could give you a laugh (Bowyer. No, not a typo).

SMRPG was the first RPG I ever played, and it is still on my "Top five games of all time" list. So far, I have played it six times, and the sixth time I completed the game from start to finish (Including Yo'ster Isle, Jinx, Culex, Star Egg, Toadofsky's Pond, all six doors, and five fireworks in my inventory) in one sitting. So much caffiene...

chaos: Wow. One thing about the game that was great was that you really never wanted to drop the controller. In FF (Even VI I'm afraid), there would be many a time when I was tired of searching for a place, and would just drop it. I wouldn't go back to playing it for a while.

Albedo: Did you discover the almighty Grate Guy's Casino? *laughs maniacally*
