Fran and Balthier?

fran and balthier is no different from an amarant and lani thing

I get the impression that Fran and Balthier are good friends with a great deal of admiration, respect, and history between them; Amarant and Lani didn't care about each other at all and held each other in contempt. Amarant even turned on her when he disapproved of her tactics.

Fran and Balthier are much different. She leaves her old life behind for him, a bittersweet parting at best. They're partners, and it's both stated and implied that Amarant works alone.
