    Because they need to get the attention of as many buyers as possible, and a guy and a huge sword, displayed in high resolution apparently looks "cooler".
    While it might be, I prefer the boxes to look classic and stylish rather than "cool". I also think the logo artwork is pretty for most of the games.

    There are very very very very very few instances when flashy American box art is ever even mildly comparable to the original, let alone better. Final Fantasy X isn't even close to being one of these instances.

    i was going to say N. American (and maybe i will), but...it's a deadlock between N. American and International. then you have the fancy box-art, the logo, and the little Japanese characters.


    Japanese. bears tiny differences compared to European.


    North American.


    International.
