I don't care about what I would class to be minor punctuation mistakes. As long as it's legible it doesn't matter to me. I do however care about teachers punctuation mistakes, when they are teaching English. That is their job, if they can't do that job properly then they shouldn't be doing it at all. I used to frequently argue with my teachers about comma's. They would say: "You need a comma there". I would say: Do I? Why is that? They'd say: "Because you need to take a breath there". I would say: "No I don't". An then I'd proceed to read whatever it was I'd written, without stopping for a breath where they said I would need to. I also believe that animal species names should be given capital letters. I don't care who tells me that your not supposed to, I'm still going to do it because I think it's correct! The only time I make a conscious effort to care about my punctuation is when I'm taking a test. It turns out that I'm actually very good at English when I try!
