He looks white, but in spirit and in origin, he was Lunarian. If I remember correctly, he was one of the original guardians who were said to have protected the princess' personal fan club, consisting of Sailors Mercury, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter. But unlike the current Sailors, the Guardians' spirits were NOT reincarnated as humans, which is why they follow Beryl.
Zoecite was a dude in the anime also, it is just they change him to a girl in the dubbed.
Anyways Neflite is from Earth, as we already established he was a guardian of Prince Endymion. Though he could be from another planet like Kaitou Ace (Adonis was his real name right?), there has not been, as far as I remember, any evidence to show that Neflite is from the Moon. Also this happens solely in the anime for Neflite does not live long enough to know Molly (I forget her original name) well enough.
Yes there is a taboo against the coupling of those from the Moon and Earth. See people of the Moon live longer, thus making normal Earthlings jealous. Another reason is because those of the Silver Millenium are intrusted to guard the Earth. Princess Selenity broke this taboo, which she then paid for with her life. Well after Prince Endymion got killed, she used the sword meant to protect her to commit suicide upon. (She also died in the anime by the hands of Beryl which her actions could be seen as suicidal, but it is much more evident in the manga). Well this is all according to the manga, which has been a while since I read.
Im going to have to read the manga, its difficult to get the first volumes. I found 2 back magazines in Forbidden Planet afew years ago, but it barely explained anything cause it was half way through a sequence if you catch my drift.
When I come across the manga I can only get it in French. I have actually found all three volumes of Codename: Sailor V in French, second hand. I did not buy them though...I should have...Damnit...
BTW I read the manga, both BSSM and Codename, after downloading them.
The outer senshi arent even the last of the senshi. There are about 30 (or a little bit less) who are named. And by the way, Saturn is so short because she's a child.
Yes, Zoicite is a man. Not just in the manga, but in the anime as well. Because of his feminine appearance and America's general homophobia, they made him into a girl (just meaning they gave him a female voice... ever notice how flat Zoicite is?). In the manga it isnt an issue, as Zoicite and Kunzite do not have a relationship.
Other 'changes' to avoid homosexuality in other countries include Fisheye of Amazon Trio being voiced by a girl (since he's always trying to get on guys, especially Mamoru) and Haruka and Michiru's lesbian relationship being changed to a familial one (cousins).
Well, in the dubbed Malachite(however you spell it) and Zoecite were in love. Does that mean they were gay in the manga?Originally Posted by The Summoner of Leviathan
Kunzite (Malchite) and Zoicite were both men in the anime and in a homosexual relationship. Zoicite is a man in the anime, just voice by a girl in the dub to keep Westerners from freaking out. There is no relationship between them in the manga (the manga, including Sailor V, hint quite strongly at a romantic relationship between Sailorvenus and Kunzite in the past).
edit: As for Nephrite, he is indeed from the Earth and not the Moon. Adonis was from Venus.
Nephrite's relationship with Naru got him killed because he was betraying the Dark Kingdom by doing so. That and Zoicite hated him and was really just looking for a reason to off him.
edit2: Oh, and as for the shiitenou being the guardians of the Inner Senshi, no. They were the four guardians of Prince Endymion. The Inner Senshi were the guardians of Princess Selenity, and more than capable of taking care of themselves.
This misunderstanding probably comes from a very popular manga picture showing the four shiitenou holding the four Inner Senshi.
Well I live in the UK and it's still on here.
And I still think it's briliant!
Where? I thought it had finished on Fox Kids years ago. And no one said it had stopped being shown.Originally Posted by MJN SEIFER

It's sometimes on Sky One in place of adverts. Kinda sucks but that's sky one for ya.Originally Posted by ~SapphireStar~
I think it's awesome, in it's original unedited form anyway. The dub is fun to watch so you can laugh at all the early 90s slang though, and for trying to cover up a still blatantly obvious lesbian relationship by making them cousins and turning it into an incestuous relationship...accidentally.
I like Kung-Fu.
Yeah, the dub is awesome to make fun of. My friend and I have recently taken to reciting old dub lines (especially quoting Molly and Nephlite) and it cracks everyone up.
