Why does everyone hate mindflayers? You only encounter like 1 at a time and their dead before they can even attack. But I really hate Ahriman, I spent like an hour just surviving him and then he Flares my ass.

Atomos, too much life and it takes a long-ass time to kill him. (I'm not sure if atomos is in the original this was in dawn of souls for GBA).

Early in the game, poisonous stuff. I always forget to buy antidotes, and I'm struggling to get each of my mages 3 spells, and I always have 3 mages. Whitemage, Blackmage, and Redmage.
The jelly things that only take damage eaual to the number of hits, so its like sucky if you have no mages >_<
Wizards/Piscodemons and all variants. I hate them all.
Alas, in all my FF1 playing, I have never, ever met Warmech. How's that for misfortune?
For supreme happiness in the pants, try three Red Mages. Slight limitation on spells, but so intensely easy to level up.and I always have 3 mages. Whitemage, Blackmage, and Redmage
