Both series got crap and went for style over substance after the first game, which is a shame.

I can't choose. They're both tricky little sods. The games, that is.

It also had something to do with both of the original dev teams parting from Universal, but having to leave all of the rights to the franchises behind at the companies - leaving Universal to churn out uninspired crap, while the dev teams go on to create much bigger and better things (the Jak and Ratchet and Clank series, respectively from Naughty Dog and Insomniac)
