Being an avid roleplayer, I see no reason why we should restrict roleplays. I have been pushing for the ability to moderate roleplays more strictly, but at the moment they've been relegated to the Writing Corner and receive very little guidance or direction.

I feel we have no reason to ban roleplays. The common excuse is that tGA is what takes care of our roleplays, but having gone to tGA I've found that I don't really like the style of roleplay they do there which is more a bunch of people telling a story than an actual playing of a role, so to speak. That coupled with the sporadic forum death and rebirth and the difficulty to become part of the major storyline when it's been going on for so long and has already been established makes me feel that EoFF should at least be friendly to those who want to roleplay.

I am and will always be willing to moderate roleplay threads as necessary. It think there's a reasonable demand for them and I feel that they're a legitimate thread to have. However, until we choose to address the issue with any depth, that's how it will likely remain.
