its much too easy. ive never played the original game though. HP for enemys is higher but you level up much faster. there are 4 extra dungeons which are unlocked by defeating the fiends. they have bosses from FF3,4,5 and 6. there are extra items and weapons in those dungeons.in the last one you unlock the ultima weapon sword is there which makes the game easier than it already is. its as good game but i bit too easy.

    What ISN'T different?

You have MP instead of the tier based system
Thieves can no longer run away better than everyone else
    Levels go up insanely quickly
Money is much easier to get
    You can save literally anywhere
Enemy groups are encountered randomly as opposed to cyclically
    You can save anywhere
Four new random dungeons have been added
If two characters attack the same target, and the first one kills it, the second will target a new enemy
Life and Stona work in battle
Did I mention you can save anywhere?
Elemental weapons now have elemental properties
    Broken spells work
Spell damage is based on intelligence
Many new items have been added, including ethers and elixers
New equipment lets any character cast almost spell in the game, including Flare and Holy
YOU CAN SAVE ANYWHERE IN THE ENTIRE GAME INCLUDING DUNGEONS RIGHT BEFORE YOU FIGHT A BOSS MEANING YOU GET UNLIMITED TRIES WITH A SAVE RIGHT BEFORE THE BOSS AND YOU CAN DO THIS AT ANY POINT WITHOUT PENALTY

    Well:

    -You start with equipment
    -Start with more money
    -everything's cheaper
-The amount of Exp. needed for a level up has gone down over half
