Intriguingly enough, Linus, who doesn't strike me as someone who would care whether or not I believed it was him, also suggested I use AIM or LJ to check whether it was really him. No, I just find it all really funny. At least the staff and Linus can see the funny side of it all. I'm also really keen to get people further into the discussion to somehow prove it wasn't him, because I know that it's impossible to prove because, well, it was him.

Oddly enough, they didn't. I went offline sometime after Linus went to sleep and didn't return until April Fool's was over.
