at level 61 on proud mode with no elixers i knocked off 8 hp bars now im at 65 and about to challange him again. i noticed this battle is all about timeing and stratagy a good amount of power helps too haha

I just beat him yesterday, level 68 on standard. After the 684324th try, I finally got down a pattern of how he moved and how to counter his stuff, and how if you attack quickly enough you can out of that crazy infinite aerial combo he seems to do. It was cool actually beating him, and finally completing Jimminy's Journal.
*shrugs* You're supposed to use Retaliating Slash when you knocks you into the air. At least, that's what I always do.

I finally beat him. I was at level 83 on normal mode. I had to take berserk charge off though, I found it really anoying. It was still tough, even at level 83, but I finally got his pattern down. The scene after was awesome

Which FF Character Are You?
When I get to him, (on the Proud file I have going right now) I'm totally going to try and beat him at a lowest level as possible. (Probably whatever level I'm at when I get to him.) Hee hee, none of my friends have beat him either.
I recently beat him at level 71 using about two or three elixers.
You can use Retaliating Slash from mid-air?*shrugs* You're supposed to use Retaliating Slash when you knocks you into the air. At least, that's what I always do.

Well that would have certainly made life easier. I just Aerial Recovered and attacked really fast, couldn't usually pull it off until the second string of aerial attacks. Hmmm....oh well, I still beat him.
I almost beated up him at Level 93 using the Oblivion key chain (but thought I should use the Rumbling Rose one because of better combos) and all the supporting ablities maxed out for the first three drive forms, but I died and decided to give up on completing Jimminy's Journal and just beat the game instead without the ''secret'' ending.
berserk charge?
hi im new to this board and i was just wondering how do i get the berserk charge. im currently in normal mode on lvl 72. <-- dat should be good enough to fight sephiroth rite? i have the ultima weapong too.
i heard dat you had to be on lvl 65 but apparently im on lvl 72 and i still don't have it

It all depends on what you chose for your type of character at the beginning of the game. If you chose the sword (offensive) then you'll recieve Berserk Charge at Lv 65, if you chose the wand (magic) then you'll recieve Berserk Charge at Lv 49, and if you chose the shield (defensive) then you'll recieve Berserk Charge at Lv 85.
So I'm guessing that you chose the defensive path, which means that you'll have to wait until level 85 to get Berserk Charge.
