What's the point? He'll just immediately disregard any arguement anyway, hating on the graphics or some other pointless thing. 
Anyway, I think FFVI is better than the others, because it's what made the foundation for the modern FFs of today. True, many FF mainstays were made in the earlier games, but FFVI truly defines what FFs are like today. It was the first FF with a truly complex customization system, the first FF with a deep story with truly deep character development, and it had very good graphics for a SNES game. (It also used those Mode 7 graphics more often than FFIV or V.
) It was also the first game to have a 'shocking revelation' kind of plot twist, not to mention (SPOILER)the world getting fried. And of course, the 'crazy nihilisitic mofo who becomes a god and has the awesome battle music as a final boss' that they can't seem to stop re-using. 
Edit: Wait, it won't matter if they can't read. Ah well.
