I think (but I don't know) that the reason GLR's post was deleted was because it contained a link to an add on for Firefox that blocks advertisements. I read the post, and I can't see any other reason.
I'm used to these ads already.
Please don't click the ads a billion times because EoFF will get shut down. Seriously.

Clicking once in a while is fine, but clicking on a single link for FFXI gil 80 times per visit clearly indicates that the clicker has no interest in the product. So google could cancel my account.
Honestly, it actually confused me more than it bothers me, because I've got an adblock filterset that filters out all Google ads. I barely even noticed the small, empty field that said "Sponsored links."

Personally, I find it kind of annoying and disruptive if I'm reading the entire thread. If I'm just looking at the last post, I don't have to deal with them, so it's ok. I realize things must be done, and I'm sure I'll get used to/over it eventually.
I use the EoFF Classic template on FireFox, and I haven't seen one ad between posts yet.
I know the ads help support EoFF, but man I REALLY hate the fact that there's all these ads for FFXI gil when buying and selling gil is what is ruining the game experience for a lot of people and is a very clear violation of the ToS for FFXI.
