    Grin Embarassing First Games

Was your first conquest a disaster that made you resort to casting GF's at a Bite Bug? (okay, an exaggeration)

Mine was, i was eight years old when i first turned on, I finished the mission at Dollet and eagerly awaited the disk change ¬__¬"

I had five GF's by disk three...but i did have Odin! (those would be Quezacotl, Shiva, Ifrit, Cerberus and Diablos)

I was running around and was forced to cast a GF on anything that appeared

I didn't know about the joy of equipping GF's until quite late in the game..

...and i didn't know how the hell to boost...

...and to get rid of first and second stage magic i used to triple cast it, rather than push square

Post any of your mishaps in the realm of Final Fantasy Eight!

Yeah, summoning GFs without boosting was pretty much all I did the first time I played the game up until Mobile Type 8 kicked my ass. Then I started going other places in the game and learned how to actually do stuff.

Well, of course there was boosting. My friend, Aaron, always told me to get boost first, but he never told me how to use it. The magic junctioning was very confusing for me, so I just didnt do it. yeah, I cast GF's on a lot of crap, but somethings, I knew I didnt need to. haha. The junction exchange I never used..still dont realy, just cuz I prefer to junction them myself. dont know why, its sorta like a security precaution I guess.....

i mean, where does it tell you about boosting in the manual or in the game!? do they just expect you to push random buttons as you watch the pretty pictures?! sheesh

I played FFVIII when I was about 11 and played previous FF's so I had a good knowledge on the game at hand but then again I still did pretty shocking, by disc 4 Squall was level 34(crawls in corner of embaressment) and for some reason Selphie was 48(weird indeed). But I dont have that save no more thankfully

What changes? I thought enemy strength was always based on player level. It goes constant or higher?

I didnt look on squalls pc at the beginning of the game so i missed out on Quezacotl (if thats how you spell it) and Shiva. I only realised when I my older brother came in to watch. I don't mean to sound like a know it all but I did already know how to boost. Thats only because I'd watched my older brother do it so I wouldnt have known otherwise.

my first game was awful. i somehow manged to get to ultimecias castle out of sheer luck but i realized all of the mistakes and things id missed out and my next games were very good. i dont know if its possible to miss quezacotl and shiva because i almost never look at the computer and quistis always gives them to you just before you leave balamb garden.

My first game was horrible. I junctioned well but I didn't know how to boost and missed out on ultimate weapons and some GFs. I barely killed Ultimecia. It was one of those times when your only doing 100 damage a round and if I didn't kill her this turn she was going to kill me. Man, was I happy about that. My second playthrough was much different.

The first time I played FF7, I had no idea what to do.
I didn't know what an RPG was.
Amazing how you're new at something & then how you become a master at it.

I NEVER figured out how to junction. Believe it or not, I actually made it through the game on just using the "Attack" command, albiet needing A LOT of Tents.
