Funkadelic Jammer
it was freakin terrible. I borrowed the game from a friend, and it was the first FF I played since FF1. Yep, it had been a long time. I assumed it was just fight, fight, level up, stay at an inn like FF1
, and hence didn't bother to read the instruction manual. And I didn't pay any attention to the ingame tutorials.
I think I just auto junctioned, but I didn't realize I could draw magic from monsters, and I didn't realize there were hidden draw points I could find with move-find. So I would just draw from the non-hidden draw points. My stats were crap-tacular, to say the least.
As well, I had no idea about the extra GFs, and that you could draw them from certain bosses.
I do remember having a really hard time with Adel, but managed to beat her after many attempts.
I got to Ultimecia's castle, and was stuck there for quite a while, because I didn't have enough potions, I didn't have GF Tonberry, and obviously not his call shop command, and didn't realize I could draw magic like curaga from monsters. It was a disgrace.
Then my friend came and took his game back, and because of university I didn't get to play it until a few years later.
The next time I played it, which was just 1 or 2 years ago, I did it right, and owned it. And have ever since.
Edit: I also didn't bother with the card game - at all. I also had the gunblade set to auto, and didn't know anything about limitbreaks, until one day Squall started "freaking out" with Renzokouken, and I was like "WHOA!!!!! How'd he do that!?!?!!?"
Yep, it was the definition of terrible.
But I became so engrossed in the storyline, that my poor play didn't matter at all. I loved it, and was addicted. Well, I guess I didn't realize what I could have been doing in the game.
