My brothers and I were new to RPGs so we didn't understand how to do a lot of things. The first place we got stuck on in our first game was Switching characters in Galbadia Garden. Although we had done it lots of times before getting there, everything seemed to change when they gave a tutorial on switching. It took us a good 20 minutes before we could figure out how to Switch. Secondly, we got stuck on the boss in the Missle Base because we didn't know how to junction spells or GFs on any other character than Squall. Again, FFVIII was one of our first games (it was our first RPG as well) so we didn't know the full usefulness of the L1 and R1 buttons.
