    I got rid of Internet Explorer, because I got tired of all the ridiculous pop ups. I'm doing much better with Firefox now.

    I use IE simply because my parents, who own this computer, don't see the difference between the browsers (despite my best efforts to tell them otherwise) and why we should get another browser since we have IE already. I'm not allowed to install anything on this computer without their permission and the other computer in our has slower internet (dammed wireless connection).

    Your parents don't sound computer savvy enough to know. Just install it. Don't put any short-cuts to it on your desktop, and right after you install it, go to the start menu and open it, so it doesn't alert anyone that a new program is installed. They'd probably never notice :P If you're using XP, you could even have it only install for your user account... Be a rebel for security! Or not. Just suggestions :]
