that sorta happened to me but on my kingdom hearts disc so i just borrowed a friends disc and finished it.

Why would he buy a pirate copy? And if it was a copy, he would have mentioned it. It must be the disk, it sounds like it crashed if the music was looping and you left it alone. Check the CD, if its bad, get a disk cleaner or another copy.maybe you buy a pirate one...

Some weird things happen. While replaying FF9, I tried to load a saved file, but it said 'data corrupted,' and didnt load. This kept happening, so I had to start again.

hmm, do u ean evrae? the battle wer u can manouver the airship? does it let u beat that then stops before the next fmv? all u can see is a yevon guard and a machina, which are still moving. isat the point it stops, that the exact point it stops for me as well!? :O

i dont remember, it was about a week after it was released... i think it was just as i beat him, it would freeze on tidus' face as he was looking at somthing... sold it for £10 and bought a brand spanking new one for £15, no problem

Meh, i have this problem all the time with the PSone FF's. i own two copies of seven and three copies of eight - and it's also threatening to make me buy another of each!
Just clean it, and it should be fine - if you're doing it yourself, be sure to go in a circular motion.

You could just get a new copy, if all else fails. (It's not like it's expensive by now.)
hm, yeah, its best just to get a new copy.
Although, I sometimes have a problem like that, before a battle, sometimes I'll just see my three characters standing there, battle music playing but no fiends! I usually just wait a while, sometimes I have to turn the PS2 off.. ;o;
