i use text emoticons in MMO, and sometimes while chatting online. i like the smilies better and i don't know all the texted emoticons. half the time, i'm all like what in the world is [INSERT "IMPOSSIBLE TO GAUGE'' TEXT EMOTICON HERE], xD.

Your "X faces" should be "x faces".

Text > Graphic, however there are some graphical smilies that are Godly and could never be represented by text. So it sort of balances out. But overall, text is better, I'd say.

I usually use >< as a 'palmface' type meaning. In general I perfer text, Im too lazy to go through graphical smilies and even lazier when it comes to learning the text code to display them.
