(SPOILER)Love is not really an issue in FFXII. I dunno what you guys are talking about. And yes, I have the game and beaten it couple weeks ago. There is def. something between Balthier and Fran, but it's not really emphasized in the game. Ashe gradually becomes attracted to (or simply accepts) Balthier, but it's not "love," it's merely a platonic kinda thing. (or at least I would say so)
