axel always said he was the odd ball of the group so maybe he just made up a name haveing nothing to do with an anagram of riku. and for all anyone knows riku could ahve been turned into a heartless and we never know of it. if anyone payed attention to the 1st kingdom hearts youd have realized that they leave a lot of info out until the 2nd one so maybe with the 2nd one they leave stuff out for another continuation. so before you so quickly decide to tell me im wrong think of how unpredictable this game is. also i never said it was for sure jsut a possibility.

(SPOILER)when sora used the soul eater to unlock Kairi's heart from his body Namine was made and so was Roxas. So it used Kairi' soul and sora's body which explains why Namine has the powers over Sora and people who know him memories.

I think Axel is the only one whose name hasn't altered. I think his name is Axel.

Axel is the most AWESOME Organization 13 member!!! (not to mention the HOTTEST too!!! ) And as someone said previously, he is the oddball in the group so it would make sense if he was the only one whose name stayed the same. I couldn't imagine him with any other name anyway!!! And think about this, when he uses his weapon he technically is an axel. Look at the picture, his weapon is like the wheels and his arms are an axel. I noticed that a looong time ago, pretty cool huh?

Axel was one of the fiew Organization XIII members who had ANY development in the game. The others were either minor or destroyed in the GBA game Chain of Memories.

Different kind of axle. Interesting sidenote, Axel actually means "source of all life." Kind of weird considering he holds power over a source of great destruction.

It may be spelled differently, but he still is an axle. I don't think it's a coincidence that his name is Axel, and when he holds his weapon it looks like wheels on an axle. :rolleyes2 Square created him to have his weapon that way on purpose after his name or vice versa. They probably switched the "e" and "l" so it wouldn't have the same exact spelling.
