Games Magazines

If any of you purchase game magazines regulary, which one(s) do you get? and why do you like that specific one?

I get PSM2(UK) every month simply because it always has the latest info on everything PS2 with usually accurate release dates, honest reviews, it has humour every so often and you get a free DVD with video reviews, latest footage, previews etc and a small cheat book. Great PS2 mag.

There a waste of money in the UK. OPS2M just praise Footie games. And shun the others. Didnt FFX get an 8 ?

OPS2M? you talking about Official Playstation 2 Mag in the UK? or US? anyway the official magazines always suck.

I used to buy Gaming Magazines like PSM, EGM, etc... back when I didn't own a computer. But now that I have internet, there's really no point to buying mags anymore. What's out there and more you can easily get for free on the net.

I collect EGM (since '93), Tips and Tricks (since '98), Game Informer (since 2000), and PSM (since 2000).

I also have various other mags, like Video Games Magazine, GamePro, and Official PlayStation Magazine, among others. I have way too many game mags O.o;;

I used to buy Playstation PRO for the PS1, it was cheap and nearly always had something free with it. I don't think they ever did one for the PS2. Now i only buy a mag if there's a good Demo Disk with it, their too expensive and i can just go on IGN or Gamespot and read reviews and see screenshots there.

I used to have a subscription to Game Informer for awhile, it was my favourite magazine because it was honest and funny as hell. However they started giving half-assed reviews back in 2001/02 giving crappy games good scores (IE Floigan Brothers for the Dreamcast got an 8.5) and giving good games crappy scores (Megaman X6 got a 6.5 and Guilty Gear X got a 6). They sorta cooled down on that now and started giving game reviews with REAL scores.

PSM is the only one that I've liked, and tried to get a subscription to, but then I forgot to pay for it, and kept forgetting to pay, so now they hate me. It's too bad. Funny stuff in that magazine.
