So...
...do I have to have played Tactics to understand Final Fantasy XII? I know that it is set in Ivalice, but is it a part of Tactic's time line? Or are we going to see another, entirely new take on Ivalice?
I certainly hope that it doesn't connect to Tactics. I did not get into it at all.

No...Its just the same world in a completely different time period. I think FFXII is way later.
It has nothing to do with Tactics. It just sets in the same world as Tactics. Nothing more
