I haven't played first generation game yet so I don't know how things there.
I don't want to live in FFVII world, the spiritual energy is sucked and most likely the world is going to be destroy by Sephiroth's Meteor or Shin-Ra.
FFVIII also isn't my choice, the world is dangerous that I will like to avoid it.
FFX isn't safe too. Sin will attack and I will die.
FFX-2 isn't safe too. Vegnagun will destroy all.

So FFIX, the world is peaceful and most of the place are avoidable from Kuja, I would like to live either in Conde Petie, Madain Sari, Esto Gaza, Black Mage Village or Daguerreo (the safe place).

So Final Fantasy IX.

IX is actually pretty dark. All of the Mist Nations broke out in war, Garland has the Invincible to destroy pretty much anything, and don't forget the egomaniacle maniac trying to end humanity, along with the other one you don't see for the last 30 minutes of gameplay.

I would say tactics. Could become King since everybody dies for the most part. That and being able to summon monsters and be ninja stealthy would be cool too.

I guess I'll pick the one that doesn't seem to be as war-torn and/or on the brink of destruction: FFIII. Well, besides the monsters, I didn't notice much war (besides Salonia) or world on the brink of annhilation.

None of them. I like my world not being on the brink of destruction and flooded with monsters that I have to fight for my life every time I turn around, thanks.

But if I had to, it'd be FFX-2, since it was the most peaceful in terms of the world and the population was alot happier in general than in all the other FFs.

although FF9 is my favourite FF and my favourite game and it has some very good locations i pick FF8 because some of the places are great. it would be so good to go to esthar before the lunar cry.
